New years eve in Lloret and the town was partying ! Most of the big clubs had organised special events for this special night, but several of the British bars and Spanish bodegas were closed as they celebrated the New Year with their families and friends. The old Spanish tradition is that as the bells are chiming 12 each person has 12 grapes
and for each chime they have to swallow one grape, and if they succeed in
swallowing them all before the end of the chimes then its said they will have
good luck for the following year ....... its not as easy as it sounds!
