Fenals Fiesta 2014

Its been fantastic weather for this weekends Fenals/Santa Clotilde fiesta, here are just a few of the many photos we took of the different events.

Stalls along Fenals seafront selling locally made crafts

Portions of  Butifarra, bread and wine were served  in Fenals park to anyone who joined the queue which seemed to weave all around the park!

Aguaviva Urbanisation Lake

This morning we had a trip to the lake at Aguaviva to try get a few shots of the wildlife up there, at first we couldn't see anything but then all the bids starting wading and waddling over to see if we had any food for them...which we had! Its always a good idea to have something for them so as to get the best close-up shots.

Fenals & Santa Clotilde Festival

As the main August holiday period is coming to a close we have two events taking place over this weekend. Firstly is the Fenals and Santa Clotilde 2 day fiesta with childrens activities starting during the afternoon of Friday 29th starting with games, shows and the foam party for the children which was enjoyed by the adults just as much as the kids last year! Also the Giants of Lloret will be making an appearance for the 1st time at this event, Friday evening there will be music and dancing which everyone can join in with!
On Saturday you can take your place in the 'endless' queue for the free Butifarra. At 10.30pm on Fenals beach will be everyones favourite event...the fireworks display!

On Sunday 31st in the centre of Lloret is the last chance to catch your bargains in the last day of the summer sales as the shops try to sell their goods out on the streets at the lowest prices possible. Sales start at 10am and finish at 11pm, this is also the last day which the shops will be allowed to stay open till 11pm, they will then go back to the usual closing time of 10pm.

Lloret de Mar Weather

Todays photos from Lloret beach show that the hot August weather has returned and once again the holiday makers are able to enjoy the sun, the temperature at present is 27º with a very slight breeze. This weather is forecast to be with us for the rest of the week at least, and even the night time temps are forecast to be 20-21ºc...which may make it a bit too uncomfortable to sleep!

Lloret de Mar - August weather.

Just a few random shots taken today around Lloret....
The antiques fair in front of the town hall didn't have many stalls set out today, probably the terrible storm we had yesterday may have put a few people off- but elsewhere around town there were a few people about making the most of the dry weather. With the dark cloudy sky though it looked as though rain could have started again any minute....very strange weather for August we're having just now!

Pamboli Festival at Sant Pere del Bosc

This years Pamboli Festival which was planned to take place last night was cancelled owing to the bad weather, it will now take place tonight 23rd August. The event which includes a host of various activities - music, food, art and culture is held at Sant Pere del Bosc starting at 6pm.

Clon Festival - The Moonwalkers

Michael Jackson Tribute Band

This years Clon Festival came to a sudden close last night as the excellent Michael Jackson tribute act were playing to what must have been the biggest audience of the event....rain stopped the show at 11.50pm. The 'Moonwalkers' started off the night with the later Michael Jackson hits and then went onto his older stuff, a great evening but such a shame we didn't see their full show...maybe they will be back another year!

More photos here....The Moonwalkers
