Correbous Vidreres

 This is the first time I've come across this annual event which takes place in the nearby little town of Vidreres...thanks to Val who brought it to my attention! The event got off to a start at 7am this morning with the main feature the 'Bull Run' - we didn't actually get there while much later by that time the it was the horses which were putting on a fantastic show in the temporary 'bull ring'

Keeping fit in Lloret

9am in Lloret and if you feel like a bit of exercise to start off your day then you can join in with the group at 'Roca d'en Maig' just by the beach. 

A day in Banyoles

I'm getting quite a bit of feedback from people who have seen the photos of the nearby places we have visited recently, it seems you all enjoy seeing these places and many of you have told me you will be also doing the same once the summer season is over. Obviously during July and August the roads are busy and parking is hard to find so we haven't travelled as much as we would have liked....but its nearly time to take to the roads again!

One place I haven't shown you yet is only 70km from Lloret and this is the lovely Lake at Banyoles. This is the largest lake in Catalunya and was used for the rowing events during the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Even now its used by many rowing and kayak teams for training purposes in particular the English rowing teams, and its also popular for triathlon events.

Some statistics about the lake - its length is 2,100m, its width at the widest part 750m and the length of its shoreline is approx just over 9 km, so a nice long walk or a cycle ride if you fancy!

 You can easily spend a full day here with all the activities there is on offer,  nice shady walks or a gentle rowing boat ride, even a pleasure boat cruise

Out & about in Lloret at night

These photos show the main nightlife area of Lloret de Mar, 'Avenida Just Marles' along this road is where you will find the top nightclubs and discos.

 Just round the corner from the Londoner is a nice traffic free zone with lots more night time venues and even a few take-away places if your feeling peckish!
