Lloret de Mar - Boadella Beach

After nearly a week of very unsettled weather in Lloret it now seems to be getting back to normal. We woke this morning to blue sky and a just a few light clouds, there was another storm last night which we hope has now cleared the air...so time to get out the camera for some more photos!

These photos were taken at approximately 11 am this morning and show three views of Boadella beach which is easily reached with a 30-40 minutes walk through the woods from Lloret or Fenals. In the bottom photo you can see the Santa Clotilde gardens on the cliff tops above the beach, this is a great place to visit to get some stunning shots of the coast....something a lot of people don't associate with Lloret de Mar!

Lloret de Mar Supermarkets

If you are visiting Lloret de Mar for the first time then you may be wondering which are the best supermarkets in which to do the bulk of your shopping and where are they! If your staying in an apartment and intend to make quite a few of your meals indoors rather than eat out then its always worth trying to find out where the locals do their shopping and where to get the best value for money.
I have put together a list and map of what I and most of the local residents in Lloret  consider to be the most popular supermarkets in Lloret complete with a few details about each one. Just click on the image below to take you on a tour of Llorets supermarkets!

Lloret de Mar - Hardy Butts

One thing I've noticed about Lloret de Mar during the past 3 - 4 years is that it seems to be  getting a very popular place for motorcycle gatherings. Back in April we saw several custom built bikes parked on Lloret's seafront, as seen in the photos here.

Coming to town shortly - 11th to 13th June is  the very popular Hardy Butts event. This will be the 3rd edition of the Harley Davidson bikes meeting in town, and organisers are predicting the biggest and best one yet!
There will be some changes to the event this year, one in particular is the venue change. Instead of the seafront they will be based around the casino area, with part of the weekends events taking part in the casino. There will be a 2 day poker tournament as well as motorcycle manufacturers from Europe and the USA being invited to display some of their bikes and products in the 1,700 sq metre exhibition centre. Many other activities will also be organised for all those attending, one of which will see the winner of the custom bike contest having the chance to take part in the Grand final over in the States.

Last year the Hardy Butts event brought nearly 20, 000 people to Lloret and about 7,000 bikes, so lets hope the local traders feel some of the benefit of all these extra potential customers which they so badly need !

Lloret de Mar - Rabbies v Chimaira FC

Rabbies Team
The Chimaira football club from London are in Lloret for a few days and while here have had a game with a team of lads which Hammy from Rabbies Bar got together...from where ever he could!
Chimaira FC
The match was held at the Lloret FC ground, for which they were charged €140 for 1hr so the teams played 30 minutes each way. It was a great game with lots of action and goals, most of which were scored by Chimaira...but all good fun! The score at the end of the first half was 4 - 2 to Chimaira and finished at 10 -3.

They even had supporters...about 20 or so locals were there, but lots more were watching from the hotel balconies around the ground!
A great day and night in Rabbies!

Lloret de Mar Weather

The weather is really starting to get much hotter these days!
We heard today from someone who had just drove through Vidreres just a few kilometers in land that the temperature there was 34ºC. In Lloret it would have been more like 28-30º....still very hot for this time of year!

Theses 2 photos were taken from the cliff tops in Fenals looking out to the crystal clear Med and down onto one of the rocky coves.
