Lloret de Mar Events

A yearly reconstruction of one of the oldest methods of fishing can be seen on Lloret beach tomorrow at 8am and again at 1pm. Many of the locals will gather just as they did years ago to pull in the (hopefully full) fishing nets which have been cast out to sea. Tirada a l'Art shows how the nets were manually dragged from the sea by the people of Lloret in exchange for a few fish to feed their families. Once the nets are in the catch will be cooked and served on the beach for those taking part. See the video below....weather permitting we'll get our own photos and video tomorrow!

Is this the bravest lady in Lloret? Although the weather is good with reasonable temperatures through the day I think you have to be very brave to take a dip in the sea at this time of year!

Lloret Bikers Event

 One of the biggest bikers events we have seen took place today in Lloret.  Bikes of every shape, size and make lined the Av Just Marles and all around the carousel square stalls were selling just about everything the serious biker would ever need!

Food and drinks were on sale and live bands played on the specially erected stage in the square...a great lively atmosphere and a good day out for everyone!

Lloret - Fenals Beach

After the dreadful  storms we have had in Lloret during the last 2 weeks or so it now looks as though we are back to more settled sunny weather - for now at least! 21º  today would you believe! Just to show what effect the heavy rain has had on Fenals beach, these pictures show just how the water flooding down to the sea has gouged its way through the sand. Several trees in the woods just to the back of the beach have fallen with the land slides, and others have had to be cut down to make them safe....so Fenals beach area is not looking its best just now!
