Lloret de Mar - Countryside Scenes

Would you believe that these photos are taken only about 15mins walk from the busy nightclub area of Lloret de Mar, and if you are staying in the Fenals area of Lloret during your holiday then you are nearer still to these countryside scenes. Only a few days ago we walked towards the Costa Encantada hotel and apartments and followed the road until we came to the woodland. Here you can see the donkeys and horses in the fields and we also saw an old farmer taking his goats for a walk!
This would be a nice place to bring the kids while on holiday if they ever get fed up of the beach or pool...the donkeys are fenced in so nothing to worry about there, they are friendly and love to come to the fence so you can rub their nose!

Lloret de Mar Weather Today

Its been a beautiful day in Lloret today, we are still only in the first half of March and the weather is fantastic. Such a vast contrast to the  March of 2 years when Lloret spent almost a week without electricity because the heavy snow brought power lines down!

Now that the hotels are starting to open up again there's quite a few holiday makers in town and the place is looking a bit more lively.  Some which I've seen today have actually had a bit too much sun and are looking quite red!

Spanish Markets - Tordera

Spain is well known for its colourful markets and here in Lloret we are not very far away from Tordera which holds one of the biggest and best around! Tordera is a small town only about 30 minutes drive from Lloret where each Sunday the whole town becomes one huge market place with stalls lining almost every street. If you are in Lloret or any other nearby resort then its quite easy to book a half day excursion to the market through Laietana Tours.

Watch iPlayer in Spain

Have you ever tried to access the BBC iPlayer only to be told that as you are not resident in the UK then you are not eligible to watch?
I'm sure many expats will already know about the Expat Shield programme which enables you to access iPlayer on your PC if you live abroad, but for those who don't then it's just a simple matter of going to their website and downloading their programme which will then allow you to watch BBC iPlayer etc just as though you were in the UK! It really does work and is completely free of charge! Have a look at their website here EXPAT SHIELD
