Lloret de Mar St George's Day
Today is St Georges day (Sant Jordi) and to make things even better we have another beautiful day in Lloret, sun all day long today! As always on this day there will be books and roses on sale by the town hall in Lloret de mar, not only is St George the patron saint of England but also of Catalunya and the custom is for men and women to exchange gifts of books and roses!

Andalucian day in Lloret de Mar
We certainly had a busy day in Lloret yesterday with 2 events taking place on the same day! First of all we went over to photograph all the horses in the parade on Lloret seafront, from there we headed straight up to the street party by the Granada Bar where there was a special Andalucian day with all kinds of entertainment going on! Visitors and officials from the small pueblo of I'llorra in the province of Granada were here for their special day.
Hundreds of people filled the street, eating, drinking and dancing, chairs were set out in front of the stage where for the entertainment programme which went on from morning till night. The air was filled with the delicious smell of butifarras on the BBQs which were being served with bread and glass after glass of wine and beer, sadly we didn't dare sample any as our next stop was to Sunday lunch at Rabbies bar!
Many of the ladies were dressed in Flamenco dress which were in every colour you could imagine...I dont think I've ever seen so much colour in one place!
