Fishing in Lloret

Yesterday we had a temperature of 22º in Lloret and already at 10.30 this morning its 18ºc. With temperatures forecast to rise for this weekend its a great opportunity for getting out and about and enjoying the HOT weather!

The sea is still very rough as it has been all week but it wont deter the local fishermen from trying to catch lunch for their families!

St Valentines Day in Lloret

February 14th and what a beautiful day it is in Lloret de Mar today to celebrate St Valentines Day!

There's hardly a cloud in the sky and people are out in the sun enjoying the 22ºc we have today.
Love is in the air and it also seems that spring is just around the corner with the flowers in bloom!

Lloret Beach damage

I'm glad to say that the rough sea which has been battering the coast during the last few days has now calmed down compared to how it was. Its caused a considerable amount of damage both on Fenals and Lloret beach, leaving the steps and metal walkways tangled and hanging in midair. There is just about a 100mts stretch of Lloret beach which has been taped off preventing people form venturing anywhere near. Other parts of the beach are ok, in fact its much wider in parts owing to the fact that much of the dislodged sand has dumped itself at the castle end!

Its even calm enough (and warm enough) for some to take to the sea again!

Fenals beach

Continuing with the photos from Fenals beach, with yesterdays photos we can now clearly see that the sea is still very rough down there and bit by bit the beach is disappearing!
This part of the beach is normally a favourite spot for families with young children as they can safely walk through the shallow rock pools with their fishing nets and catch small fish and the little crabs which live among the rocks.

In these 2 photos you can see how the sea has carved out a huge steep ledge in the sand.
But meanwhile a family have found a safe spot on the beach to have a picnic, it really was so warm yesterday.
