The Catalan town of Besalu is a very popular medieval town which attracts hundreds of visitors every day of the week, they have obviously heard what a beautiful place Besalu is! Starting at the bridge crossing the river towards the centre of the town, its cobbled streets lead the way around what must be some of the most well preserved medieval buildings you will ever come across. Excursion companies in the area bring tourists to Besalu from all the nearby resorts, so if you do ever get the chance to visit then I can highly recommend it, you will have a very enjoyable day out and see some of the best Catalan countryside on the way!

Lloret Medieval Fare
The streets were packed last night and there was a great atmosphere in town with the people visiting this years medieval event. Shop workers and stall holders were dressed in medieval type costume, and there were some weird and wonderful characters taking part in the street entertainment shows!

Begur Town & Sa Tuna Beach
Escape to the country on another day out from Lloret!
This time our day trip took us up the coast to the town of Begur and the nearby picturesque beach of Sa Tuna. With a population of nearly 4,000 people Begur is one of the largest towns in the area and attracts many tourists throughout the year to its town, beaches and coves. In the centre of the old town are numerous little streets lined with interesting stone buildings which have been beautifully cared for and restored over the years. The main square is full of cafes and restaurants, and surrounded by a great little shopping area of shops filled with local craftware, gifts and fashions & accessories etc.
Fantastic views of the coast from Begur castle.
Just a few minutes drive to the coast from Begur town and you come to the cove and beach of Sa Tuna which I think is one of the prettiest little beaches I have seen on the Costa Brava, where the water is crystal clear!
November and its still warm enough to do a spot of sunbathing!

Lloret de Mar Beach
Down on the beach today - its now looking empty but still a few people were able to enjoy the mild temperatures and keep their tans topped up! The orange safety flag was flying warning anyone from going in the sea as it was very rough today....do they take any notice? No they don't, we saw 3 or 4 who were still prepared to risk their lives just to take a short dip!
Still nice enough to sit outside the cafes for a cuppa!
