The horses and riders were looking their very best for today's parade which took place around the Town Hall. I'm pleased that the weather stayed fine for them as we have had some very unsettled weather just lately. Once the parade was over the street cleaners were out....as you can imagine it was quite messy afterwards, but the streets were soon back to normal!

Sant Jordi celebrations in Lloret
Sant Jordi (St George) day celebrations will be held this coming weekend 22-23rd April in Lloret. As usual at this time of year there will roses and books on sale all over town and particularly along the promenade in front of the Town Hall. St George is also the patron saint of Catalunya as well as in England and the usual custom is that couples, partners or friends each buy the other a gift...roses for the ladie's and a book for the men.
Events in Lloret.
This coming Sunday 24th April we have another chance to see the horses parade around the streets of Lloret. They will be leaving the Club Hipic at 10.45 after which they are due to arrive at the town hall at 12.00.

What to do in Lloret.
It now seems that the summer season is finally here, just about every shop, restaurant, cafe and bar is now open for what we hope will be a successful season for them all.The weather forecast for the coming week is very good, today's temperature was 22c...warm enough to spend a couple of hours on the beach or taking it easy on a sun bed by the pool topping up your tan!
The water parks such as Marineland and Warerworld don't open until mid May, but there's lots of things to do and places to visit while on holiday during the early part of the year.
Photos shown here are taken around Lloret de Mar this week.
If you would like to take a day trip from Lloret then you can easily catch a bus to other resorts along the coast from the bus station, nearby towns are Tossa de Mar and Blanes but if you would like to travel further a field then catch a bus to Barcelona for a great day of shopping or sight seeing. If your a fan of the popular TV programme Game of Thrones then you can take a bus to the lovely old city of Girona and walk along the very streets and see the buildings which have been used in the filming for part of the 6th series earlier this year.

Easter in Lloret de Mar
This Easter weekend we have seen many more places opening up for business for the season and also the town is much more lively as people are now wanting to take a much needed break from the cold weather at home! The holiday weekend weather could have been better here but it has been quite mild so it hasn't kept visitors from venturing out and enjoying the shops, bars, cafes and restaurants and all the beautiful coastal scenery that Lloret de Mar has to offer.
