After what has been a very quiet year for Lloret de Mar we are now into September, a month which should be very busy with lots of tourists. Now that the children are back at school and the airfares are normally cheaper Lloret is in the sad situation where most hotels have closed through lack of guests and bars/restraunts etc are having to decide whether its worth their while staying open or close much earlier for the season. This video taken today (16th September) shows how deserted the town is just now!
A genuine AWARD WINNING blog with all the insider info you need to know about Lloret de Mar its events, excursions, restaurants, pubs, bars and nightlife.

Lloret de Mar market day.
Lloret de Mar market is very popular with both local residents and tourists. There is always bargains to be found...whether its clothing, handbags, underwear, household goods or fruit and veg! It is held every Tuesday morning opening between 9-10am, and located on the edge of town approx 10mins walk from Llorets bus station.

Lloret in Lockdown 2020
Lloret de Mar seems a very strange place these days, all residents are on strict lockdown rules owing to the nasty Covid 19 virus which has affected just about every country in the world. At this time of year the streets, beaches, bars, restaurants and clubs should be packed with tourists from far and wide. Instead the streets are deserted giving Lloret a very strange atmosphere. I have done a short video showing Lloret as it looked today 6-5-2020.

F1 Barcelona 2020, test days.
For all the F1 fans out there did you know you can actually visit the circuit to watch the pre-season testing of the cars at Circuit de Catalunya? My visit yesterday was a fantastic experience at a very small entry fee compared to the actual race costs.
This years ticket prices start at €59 for adults, which I thought was excellent value for the experience of been able to access areas otherwise not normally available unless you pay hundreds of euros on race days!
