Lloret de Mar Nightlife

Mid August in Lloret de Mar and the streets are now packed every night of the week with people looking for the best nightlife venues. Llorets nightclubs are all centered around Avenida Just Marles, easy to find as this is the road which leads directly from the beach where you can find two of the coolest lounge bars in Lloret...the Zoo Beach Club and Blue Bar. Just make your way up the road towards the bright lights and this is where the most popular venues are located.

 

 The Londoner, Hot Spot, Colossus, Tropics, Mobys are just a few of the best known clubs on Avenida Just Marles but take a detour into the side streets to find many more well established venues which have made Lloret de Mar the Costa Brave nightlife capital for many years!

 

 

Lloret Clon Festival 2013

 

 Last nights Clon Festival band were the 'Funky Monks' a great Red Hot Chili Peppers tribute band - they certainly got the crowd singing and dancing along as they went through the bands string of hits!

Fenals Beach Views

The morning after the night before!

After Thursday nights thunder storm which didnt last too long but unbelievably brought large hailstones with it...(yes its mad weather we're having this August!) we woke to a much fresher morning with less humidy.
Fenals beach yesterday was fairly busy but still not as busy as we would expect for August.

Lloret de Mar Golf

Good news for the golfers of Lloret is that the town council has given permission for a 18 hole golf course, clubhouse and new luxury hotel to be constructed somewhere in the town. This should create much needed jobs for approx 100-150 people and also encourage more golf tourism to Lloret as at present Lloret de Mar only has the 18 hole pitch & putt Papalus course. Planning permission is yet to be granted so it could still be some time before the scheme is completed or for that matter even started!

Early Morning Views of Lloret

 Yesterday morning we were awake at about 6am, and decided it would be a good idea to get out for a walk though the woods over near Cala Banys before the sun was too hot. You never know what the views will be like from the cliffs or what wild life you will come across in the woods at such an early time.  

In the tree above is a very colourful exotic looking bird  - the Hoopoe, which is quite a common sight round here, about the same size as a magpie.

 We also came across several red squirrels, often seen scurrying about in the woods but the hard part is been quick enough with the camera!

Lloret de Mar - Fenals

 What a nice change to see these few stalls set up along the beach front in Fenals this weekend!

Most of the traders were selling their own handcrafted goods such as jewelry, ornaments for the home and basket ware...but one stall was actually preparing and baking bread which smelled delicious!

Views of Lloret de Mar beach taken this week - at times it looks very cloudy but this week along with high temperatures we have also had very high humidity figures of 80-90% which is very hard to cope with for everyone here.

 

 

 

 

Staying cool in the Spanish heatwave!

Britains visiting Spain are been warned about the high temperatures which are been forecast for some parts of Spain. With temperatures forecast to reach 43c in the shade in some parts of Spain here's a nice way way for the kids to cool down and have fun on the beach in Lloret, its their very own version of the 'foam party' which is so very popular in some of the nightclubs in town.

Lloret de Mar Boats trips

There are several ways in which you can take to the sea right from the beaches at Lloret de Mar.
For a thrilling trip on either the parasailing, waterskiing, skibus or flyfish then you can find these on both Lloret and Fenals beach.

 For a trip to other local beaches then you only have to book your trip at one of the seafront kiosks, all boats have on board bar for drinks and snacks. On the way to Tossa the boats pull into one of the rocky coves giving you the opportunity to see into the rocky caves and also views from the underwater deck.
