Fenals/Santa Cristina Fiesta

The weekend long fiesta has now come to a close and what an exciting weekend it was, this has been one of the best events of the year! The events yesterday were all taking place in the childrens playground area in Fenals starting at 6pm with the entertainment going on well into the night

The excellent Coutry Revival Farners who are seen at many events in Lloret de Mar - they do a wide range of music with a country & western / rock & roll theme which brings out all their line dancing fans!

 

 

 

 

 

Once again it was a chance to see some Flamenco style dancing in Lloret, they always get a great welcome as they are all local ladies who live and work and Lloret.

 A little girl from the 'Chiky Morales' Flamenco group...their parents must have been really proud to see them all performing so well on stage!

 

Fenals / Santa Cristina Fiesta

Last night we had a full evening of entertainment in Fenals, it started with live music and the traditional sardanes dance followed with the fireworks display then more music and dancing until 3am!

The Xaloc and Fenals International Restaurant were serving customers watching the nights events from tables and chairs set out well beyond the restaurants terraces....I've never seen Fenals so busy!

 

 

 Thousands were watching the fireworks from down near the beach and also a few were watching online through our very own live webcam located on our balcony!!

 This morning as part of the weekends fiesta buttifara, pan con tomate and wine was been served in the park in Fenals centre. I'm told that 1,200 buttifarra were cooked and given out to all those who joined the queue which almost went right round the park!

This weekends fiesta got off to a good start yesterday evening with a very messy foam party!

Hundreds of kids and adults joined in the fun as the foam billowed out and they all got absolutely covered in the stuff... the showers on the beach came in handy to rinse it all off afterwards!

Lloret / Fenals Fiesta

Placa Nova

A 3 day fiesta centered around Fenals is taking place as from this Friday 30th August, lots of activities are planned so its hoped that the weather stays fine! Some roads in the area will be closed so be warned if your coming into Fenals as parking places will be very limited during the fiesta.
Early Friday evening along the Fenals seafront carpark is where the fiesta starts with childrens games, animation and inflatables, later that night there will be music and dancing.
Saturday at 11am you can try the Catalan 'delicacy' Buttifarras and have a go at drinking the local wine from the porron! this will be taking place in Placa Nova Fenals. As usual the fireworks display will be at 10.30pm down on the beach with music and dancing afterwards.
Sunday evening there will be live music in Placa Nova starting at approx 7pm, last year this was a great night which went on until the early hours!...so there's just a few of the events I've listed but there will be lots more going on in between...looks like its going to be a busy weekend for me with the camera !

Fun in the sun in Lloret!

 This week we have seen packed beaches and people making the most of their time in Lloret de Mar before the main holiday season is over. The weather for the last week of August has so far been a little variable but not so much that it spoiled any ones fun! 

 The Catamarean cruise heading out from Fenals beach to pick up passengers at other beaches for their all inclusive on board party as they sail the coast!

A bucket and spade is all thats needed to keep the kids entertained!
Para sailing, boat trips and pedalos - its all here in Lloret and Fenals.

Lloret de Mar sale time

The last of the summer sales in Lloret this morning.

 Although there didn't seem to be as many stalls as previous sales the ones that had their goods on set out on stalls did seem to be doing quite well. Maybe some stores had been keeping an eye on the weather forecast and decided not to bother, because rain was forecast today and also for part of next week.

If this forecast is right it looks as though we will be getting some rain today, but saying that the sun is now making an appearance!

Lloret Clon Festival 2013

This years Clon Festival is coming to a close for another year tomorrow night Friday 23rd Aug. The last band of this years event to play will be  El Ultimo Tribute - a tribute to 'El Ultimo de la Fila'
I'm told that the Barcelona based band were one of the most successful pop/rock bands in Spain during their short stint of fame during the 80s.

Lloret de Mar Shopping

Once again as we are reaching the end of the summer sales in Lloret the stores will have all their last minute bargains out on the streets this coming Sunday 25th Aug. The main shopping area in the centre of Lloret will as usual be lined with stalls outside all the stores of those taking part, best buys will be end of range summer wear, accessories, bags, footwear and toiletries.
