Lloret de Mar - Things to do

Are you looking for something slightly different to do while on holiday in Lloret? then this may be of interest to the car enthusiasts. As you are coming into Lloret from Girona airport then you might have noticed a large grey stone restaurant/hotel on the right hand side of  the N11 coming into town the - Hostal del Rolls. Right next door is a very interesting automobile museum with more than 300 vehicles in the collection. Opening times are 10am -5pm Thursday to Saturday, Sunday 10am - 2pm. at present the normal entrance fee is €5.

Shopping in Lloret de Mar

Just now in Lloret the summer sales are on with some fantastic bargains to be found in the clothing and accessory shops, reductions are ranging from 30% to as much as 70% in some shops. At the end of this month (August) the shops will once again bring the remainder of their sales good out onto the streets for the popular 'Botiga al Carrer' - Then is the best time to get your goods at the lowest price possible as the shops will all be stocking up on new winter items. Clon Festival - The Moonwalkers

Just a reminder about the Clon Festival taking place this Friday 15th August, so far this year we have seen tributes to  Bruce Springsteen and Creedence Clearwater Revival. The final act for this year is a tribute to Michael Jackson - The Moonwalkers who will be on stage at 10.30pm by the 'Blue Bar' and 'Zoo Beach Bar'

Drive a Ferrari in Lloret de Mar

 Just now in Lloret you have the chance to take either a Ferrari or Lamborghini for a spin! The cars are on show in the carousel square just by Magic Park where you can book your drive, prices range from €49 to €119 depending on the route.....

But for a cheaper option of taking a car for a spin theres always the dodgem cars in Magic park!

Views of the Blanes coast

One of our favourite places to capture fantastic views of the coast has become the Sant Joan tower between Lloret de mar and Blanes, especially when theres a bit of cloud in the sky it looks much better than an ordinary plain blue sky! We took another trip up there over the weekend to try out our new superwide 12-28mm angle lens...heres just a few of the photos we took.

Willy & the Poor Boys Clon Festival

 Last nights Clon Festival act were a Creedence Clearwater Revival tribute named after one of the bands best selling albums...Willy and the Poor Boys. Once again a fantastic nights entertainment with music not only from C,C,R but they followed on with music from Status Quo and the Beatles among others....one of the best nights so far! The next and final act inline for this years Clon Fest is the Michael Jackson tribute "Moonwalkers" playing 15th August.

Lloret de Mar - what to do.

Photos for taken yesterday in Lloret feature two of its most photographed buildings these are the Town Hall which was opened in 1872 and the Sant Roma church.
The church is open daily from 10am - 1pm and 4pm - 7.30pm.

 Along the paseo of 'Jacint Verdaguer' in front of the town hall are a selection of bars and restaurants where you can take shade from the sun and enjoy a large cocktail, litre of sangria or maybe even a full menu of the day...all the bars have their own daily special offers.

 Holidaymakers are out making the most of todays glorious weather after what has been an unsettled 4-5 days...would you believe we had hailstones almost the size of golfballs just 2 days ago!

Lloret de Mar, a splash of colour!

Both the Town Hall and Sant Roma church tower have looked magnificent this week with the way they have been decorated for the Santa Cristina festival. Brightly coloured flags have been hung from the buildings and across the streets around town and paseo adding a splash of colour to the photos!

Santa Cristina festival

Everyone's favourite event of the annual Santa Cristina festival is the fireworks display held on Llorets main beach. Last night there were thousands of spectators watching the display from all the best view points around town. Our photos were taken from the hillside between Lloret and Fenals from where we can see all over the town with the bright lights of the hotels and nightlife area in the foreground.
