Lloret de Mar October weather

The weather has now taken a dramatic change for the worse just recently, not only in Lloret but up and down the coast they are seeing heavy rainfall which is flooding some roads making travel very difficult and dangerous in some areas. In Lloret we have had heavy rain but the temperatures are still very mild...even warm enough for a walk out in shorts and T shirts in between the bouts of rain!

October in Lloret

The summer season is almost over in Lloret, a few hotels and businesses will soon be closing until next year. After the month of October while the large clubs/disco close there is still a good selection of the smaller bars, restaurants shops etc, and just now the weather is still very good...so it maybe an ideal time to take a relaxing few days holiday!
These photos were taken this morning (3/10/16) just as the sun was rising over Lloret de Mar beach.

Santa Cristina / Lloret festival

Today is the saints day of Lloret & Santa Cristina, so to catch the procession of the boats leaving Lloret beach to make their way to Sant Cristina beach we had a very early start! We thought the best place to view the boats would be from the coast road between Lloret & Fenals, so we were there at 8am to make sure we got a parking place. Its quite easy to park there now since the parking meters have been installed all along that road.
Using the zoom lenses on our camers we could also get some very good shots of everyone on the beach waiting to board the boats for their trip down the coast. On arriving there they would make their way to the little church of Santa Cristina for a short service then all join in with the traditional Catalan meal on the beach....served I suspect with lots of wine!
