Springtime in Lloret

What a lovely weekend it's been in Lloret!

Yesterday we had the Primavera Market and today it was Sant Jordi day.

For both days the weather has been fantastic! 

Photos below are from today's Sant Jordi celebrations, around the Town Hall was a mass of colour with all the books, roses and other flower displays on sale!

A new takeaway in Lloret - The Snackman!

Good luck to Peter & Mark who have recently opened a brand new take away buisness in Lloret de Mar. They have a great menu of English & Dutch food and also delious spit roasted chicken, as you can see from the menu photos their prices will take some beating...everyday you will find special offers! Just a few minutes from the beach its a handy place to call into if your spending a day on the beach and you fancy a bite to eat! Shopping in Lloret

This Saturday 22nd April there will be another edition of 'Botiga al Carrer' this is when many of the stores in Lloret set out their goods on stalls and sell at reduced prices....so there maybe some good bargains to be found! As well as in the streets there will be stalls set up in the area around the church and town hall. 

Carnival time in Lloret!

February is carnival time in Lloret and this past weekend we saw one of the best! To start with the weather was good for both parades Saturday & Sunday, at times there was a cool breeze but it didn't seem to bother those who were taking part!

Some of the costumes this year were outstanding and very colourful...well done to everyone for making it a great weekend of entertainment.

Christmas in Lloret de Mar

 The Christmas lights have now been switched on in Lloret, here are just a few of our shots from around town. It is still very mild for the time of year and hopefully it will stay that way for the holidaymakers visiting Lloret over the Christmas & New year period.

Empuriabrava Butterfly Park

Yesterday we had a very pleasant day out from Lloret de Mar at the Empuriabrava Butterfly Park...

As well as the very colourful butterflies there are birds from all over the world, reptiles, and even a bat cave....I missed out that part of the visit...bats aren't my favourite creatures at all!
Entrance fee at present is €9.50 with a reduction for children.

November events in Lloret

Every November Lloret de Mar hosts the very popular Medieval weekend...this is always well attended with lots of things going on for all the family.
The town is turned into a medieval style village and market, shows, exhibitions, demonstrations can also be seen. You will also see weird and wonderful scary characters in the streets as you walk around...see the photos below from last weekends event.
