Andalucian day in Lloret de Mar

We certainly had a busy day in Lloret yesterday with 2 events taking place on the same day! First of all we went over to photograph all the horses in the parade on Lloret seafront, from there we headed straight up to the street party by the Granada Bar where there was a special Andalucian day with all kinds of entertainment going on! Visitors and officials from the small pueblo of I'llorra in the province of Granada were here for their special day.

Hundreds of people filled the street, eating, drinking and dancing, chairs were set out in front of the stage where for the entertainment  programme which went on from morning till night. The air was filled with the delicious smell of butifarras on the BBQs which were being served with bread and glass after glass of wine and beer, sadly we didn't dare sample any as our next stop was to Sunday lunch at Rabbies bar!
Many of the ladies were dressed in Flamenco dress which were in every colour you could imagine...I dont think I've ever seen so much colour in one place!

Lloret de Mar - Sant Antoni 2013

The Sant Antoni horse parade took place in Lloret today, this is an annual event where we see the horses and riders from the local 'Club Hipic' The day started very early at the club for those taking part in todays parade as they first have to ensure that their horses are looking their very best before they set of on their journey to Lloret from the club on the edge of town. As they make their way through the narrow streets they pass by the church where all the horses are blessed after which they then parade 3 times around the streets by the Town Hall.
