Today in Lloret - Fenals Beach

Its almost like spring today in Lloret the temperature is showing 14c on the main street in Fenals but feels much warmer sat in the sun giving people the chance to get out and enjoy the better weather while they can. This beach bar has reopened now that the bad weather is over - for the time being at least! Here are a few pictures of the people who were out and about that we photographed this morning....

An elderly couple taking a few pics of each other, it was quite funny watching them as they laughed at the photos they were taking!
A stylish lady sat by the beach having a few minutes taking in the sun.

Keeping fit with a few exercises on the beach!

Just a bit of light cloud today, much better than the dark skies of the last few days.

The weather today in Lloret

Winter has definately arrived!

After yesterdays stormy day today is much calmer and a little warmer so off we went down to Fenals beach this morning to see what was happening down there and take a few photos. Lots of families are out taking their usual Sunday stroll and watching the rough sea as it crashes up on the rocks. This weekend the beach bars have now all closed up for the winter, the pedalos and sunbeds are still on the beach but they will be moved off this week sometime I should think.

When it gets this rough the sea usually takes the sand away from one end of the beach and deposits it at the other end!

You dont always need sunny skies to make a great photo!

Today in Lloret de Mar

Out and about in Lloret yesterday morning.

Yesterdays view of Calle San Pedro one of the main shopping streets in Lloret shows just a few locals going about doing their shopping.

Meanwhile on the beach, looking quite deserted yesterday although it was 22c the only sign of life there were a few hundred seagulls!

A Day in Girona from Lloret

For an enjoyable day with a difference the city of Girona is just over a 1 hour bus journey from Lloret de Mar. This beautiful city has a fantastic range of shops and larger department stores as well as a history of more than 2,000 years. So whether its shopping in the newer part or exploring its many museums, medieval walls, Gothic Cathedral or Jewish Quarter in the old part of town you prefer then its well worth a journey to what I consider is a very underrated tourist destination.
