Tirada a l'Art, Lloret de Mar 2013

For anyone who feels like an early start to the day this Sunday 1st December there's a chance to take part  in the old traditional way of fishing on Lloret beach at 8am. Every year this event takes place on the first Sunday of December and February and pays tribute to all those who used to make their living this way. Once the nets are cast far out to sea they will be pulled in by those wishing to join in, whatever is caught in the nets will be cooked on the barbecues and eaten for breakfast washed down with lots of wine...great breakfast!

Snowy weather in Lloret de Mar

Well, the weather has suddenly taken a turn for the worse today in Lloret. Our friends up on the neighbouring urbanisations have had snow today, while down here on the coast however it's been a cold and wet day....and as yet no sign of snow.

Thanks to Paul for the photo.

Market day in Lloret de Mar

Scarves in every colour possible to keep out the cold.
Lloret's weekly outdoor market takes place every Tuesday when most stalls are all set up and business starts at 9am or thereabouts until approx 1pm depending on how good trade is on the day and of course how good the weather is. During the warmer summer months some stall holders will still be trading until 2pm,  today however although its been a bright sunny day it was quite windy and cold so some stalls were been cleared and packed away ready for an early finish at 12 noon.
Just one stall with a few Xmas items on display

Trobada Motera - Lloret 2013

Down in the carousel square yesterday we saw many colourful characters all visiting Lloret for the day long bikers event. Entertainment lasted the whole day long with the DJs and live bands providing the music which could be heard from several streets away! The stalls and stands which had been erected on the square had leather clothing and bike accessories etc on sale...while the bar supplied plenty of beer and food, just what every biker needs!
