Lloret de Mar weekend events.

This weekend in Lloret there are 2 very popular annual events taking place. Both are on Sunday but you will have to be an early riser to catch the first one...Fenals beach at approx 9am is the 5th edition of the local Triathlon. Those taking part will be starting off with a 750mt swim out into Fenals bay, after a quick change of clothing the next event will be the 20km cycle and then a run to complete the triathlon.
Sundays other event is the day long Flower Festival at Les Alegries church just on the edge of town on the Girona road. This is a day of various activities for all the family, with the church and grounds all adorned in flowers! lunch will be prepared by the Xino Xano organisation at a cost of €11 on the day or €8 if purchased before at the museum. A free shuttle bus for those needing transport will run from the bus station, and back again in the afternoon.

Todays views of Lloret show the beach looking very different to how its usually photographed!

Catalunya Villages - Pubol

Another well worth visit if your travelling around the Catalan countryside is Pubol where the famous artist/surrealist Dali once lived, so there is a small museum of his works of art you can visit. Pubol is a typical very well kept village with narrow cobbled streets and just a few small gift shops and restaurants again only about a 1hr drive from Lloret. From here you have fantastic views of the surrounding countryside and Pyrenees mountains which just now are still covered in snow!

Catalunya Villages - Corçá

Today we decided to get away from Lloret de Mar for the day so we headed off up the coast and inland towards some of the little medieval villages of Catalunya. Our first stop was the lovely well kept village Corçá just a few kilometers from La Bisbal in the Baix Empordá district. Corçá is one of the smallest villages we have come across with a population of only about 1,500, but well worth a visit if you get the chance.

Reiki in Lloret de Mar

Reiki is a Japanese technique, a natural form of energy healing which uses "universal life energy" channelled through the practioner to the recipient for stress reduction and relaxation. You can now pay a visit to Kerry in Lloret who is now offering the therapeutic technique of Reiki to people in the area.
Those who could benefit are those who suffer from stress, depression, anxiety and could also help children with behavioural problems. Reiki is a non invasive form of treatment which can promote relaxation and in turn can help those who suffer from sleeping problems as well as helping to relieve pain. If you would like more details of how to book or just have a chat about how Reiki could benefit you then Kerry can be contacted by email at kerry-topaz@outlook.com or go to her Facebook page - TOPAZ REIKI

Lloret F1 Weekend

Well, Lloret seafront was much quieter this afternoon after the cars had finished speeding along the seafront...I suppose most of those involved dashed off the watch the Barcelona F1 on their hotel TVs or maybe even to the Circuit de Catalunya to watch this years Spanish Grand Prix race live! Well done to Lewis Hamilton on his first Barcelona win and also to Lloret de Mar for hosting this fantastic event!
