Lloret Clon Festival - Gansos Rosas

The Clon Festival is over for another year, and last nights band the Gansos Rosas (Guns n' Rose's tribute band) gave a great performance just as all the others who have played this year!
They danced,  ran, sang  and bounced about all over the stage for a solid 2hrs. We heard a fantastic selection of the best Guns n' Rose's tracks, such as Live & Let Die, Sweet Child o' Mine, Knockin' on Heavens Door and the finale was Paradise City!
I have uploaded videos to YouTube and  there are more than 100 photos from the Clon Festival Web page........CLICK HERE .......to see them all.

(You can still see photos and videos from all this years 'Clon Festival' bands on the same page)

During these very hot August days the Fenals Watersports centre seem to be very busy with people taking trips riding across the waves on the Ski Bus, FlyFish and Slyder. With the para sailing you can soar 50 mts high and take in the fantastic views of the coast. On all trips life jackets are provided and safety is always paramount.

Special rates are available for groups and multitrips.

Lloret de Mar News

Approximately 1,500 people joined in the march by Lloret's residents yesterday evening to demonstrate against the recent trouble in town. This was their way of saying just how sick and tired they are of the type of visitors the town seems to be attracting during August. The protestors are asking that the current regulations  be reviewed and better enforced to bring an end to the mindless and drunken behaviour by a minority of the younger August tourist's who seem intent on causing as much noise, damage and unrest as possible during their stay!

Lloret de Mar News

A nice day in Lloret!
A peaceful protest by the residents of Lloret de Mar is to take place tomorrow (Mon 12th Aug) to show their disapproval of the way the town has been shown by the media during the recent disturbances. This will be a silent protest by residents who will make their way from the athletics ground to Av Just Marles the area of the disturbances. All residents are welcome to join this silent and peaceful show of unity which they hope will show just how much they are against the way the town is now portrayed in other parts of the world. Lloret is so often given this bad image by some of the younger groups of visitors who think that the way to enjoy themselves is by causing as much noise, disturbance and damage possible to the town whilst here! Its now time for the town of Lloret de Mar to say enough is enough, and will only welcome those who can conduct themselves in a law abiding way.

WE all know what Lloret has to offer, its time that the right image was put out there to attract the right people, ie  - Holiday makers who will come to Lloret with the intention of enjoying themselves in the many bars, clubs, restaurants, cafes, gardens, parks and fabulous beaches!

Lloret de Mar in August

Here we have a selection of photos taken yesterday 11th Aug showing the beach of Lloret. It shows just a typical holiday resort with people just lazing about about enjoying their holiday in the sun.

Just recently there has been some unrest in the town at night, as far as I'm aware caused by a minority of the younger generation who had been turned away from Colossus Disco after they had bought tickets but then turned away after the DJ had refused to play after the air conditioning and broke down.

So with this it seems they then thought it gave them the right to start causing havoc out on the streets not only for one night but for just about every night since. This week end there will be more police out and about to curb any trouble makers who just come into town at week end simply to cause trouble!

One thing I am pleased about is that this time its not the British who are getting the blame as they usually do!

Below you can see a video of the disturbances as it was reported on TV.
