Lloret de Mar - December
Now the recent heavy rain has finally stopped and the sun has reappeared we had the opportunity to get out and take a few photos today. The bright blue sky and sunny photos can be very deceiving though as it did feel quite mild in the sun which is great for those here in Lloret for the holiday weekend...later in the afternoon when the sun goes down however the temperature drops sharply so warm coats and scarves are needed to keep out the chill!

Tirada L'art - December 2014
Providing it's nice weather on Sunday 7th Dec we will be down on the beach to once again take photos of the Tirada L'art - this is the old method of fishing carried out many years ago by Llorets fishermen. Everyone taking part will be on the beach for the 8am start, and once the fishing nets have been pulled in the catch will be cooked and served with tomato bread and wine for breakfast!

Lloret de Mar Parish Church
One of Llorets most distinguished buildings is its Parish church which is stood on one of the busiest shopping streets in Lloret so visitors to the town are always sure to come across this beautiful building without any need for directions! The building is so unusually decorated that you can always be sure to see someone taking photos of the church whenever your passing.
The church was constructed between the years 1509-1552 in the Catalan gothic style.
Opening times to look around are 9.30am-1pm / 4pm-7.30pm.
Mass is held -
Tuesday to Friday 7pm
Saturday 6pm

A day in the clouds!
On a long narrow peninsula looking down on the Panta de Sau reservoir is where the 11th century monastery of Sant Pere de Casserres is situated, when you reach the monastery there is a visitors centre, restaurant and toilets which we were very surprised to see! (Where do these people live who work up there!)
We visited Sant Pere on Thursday 27th Nov and also the same day we found another road which took us higher still onto the village of Tavertet from where the fantastic views stretch out in front of you for miles and miles...standing on the edge of the cliffs in Tavertet you are 1,000 metres above sea level in total!
To reach both these places there are some really scary narrow roads weaving all around the mountainsides but the scenery is fantastic once you get to the top! It wasn't an ideal day for taking photos owing to the dark stormy skies but the light was changing all the time so all in all we don't think the photos turned out too bad. We were actually looking down on the clouds at one point, so couldn't see what was below until it started clearing....then what a view it was!
