Lloret de Mar Restaurants

Just on the edge of town is Rodizio Papalus one of Lloret de Mar's best restaurants. As you can see from the photos this restaurant is set in a very nice location, with views of the pool and childrens play area sitting on the terrace here it seems as though you are miles from anywhere! The menu has a wide range of dining options with various set menus for day or night, the daily menu served Mon-Fri is a very reasonable €11, but  for dining with a difference with their true Rodizio experience then visit Papalus one evening for the best Argentinian steaks, and other meats such as lamb, duck, chicken, pork, hot and cold buffets, pasta's, fish dishes and salads.

Papalus is perfect for any dining occasion - couples, groups of friends/relatives, anniversary's, birthdays it really is a special place.

Take a look at their website to see more info and examples of the fantastic choice of dishes @

Lloret de Mar - Santa Clotilde

The peaceful gardens of Sant Clotilde are only a short bus ride away from Lloret de Mar, just take the single deck bright yellow 'L2' bus from any bus stop in Lloret...at present the the fare is just €1.30. Or if you are staying in the Fenals area then you are only a few minutes walk away! Santa Clotilde is a nice way to spend a couple of hours strolling around the gardens from which you have fantastic views of the sea and the rocky Costa Brava coast.

Designed in the Italian renaissance style by Nicholau Maria Rubio I Tuduri in 1919 the gardens are perfectly 'manicured' and have a large variety of trees, plants and sculptures which line the carefully planned walkways leading to the many terraces and staircases.

More photos of SantaClotilde and details can be found on my web page on the following link....SANTA CLOTILDE

Lloret in June

It does seem that Lloret is ready for the summer season at last!

Fenals beach is much busier these days, pedalos and sunbeds are now on the beach ready for hire. There is more of a holiday atmosphere about the place now that there's more people in town and the sun is shining!
Oscar and his team have now begun what I hope will be another busy season for them with the para-sailing & fly-fish trips from Fenals beach.

A new feature on both Lloret and Fenals beach this year are the Beach Boxes, they are available throughout the day and could be ideal to lock away your belongings if you want to leave the beach while you go for a meal or drink.

Lloret de Mar weather in May

We often hear the saying 'four seasons in one day' and today in Lloret we have had exactly that!
This mornings view looking out across the beach we can see blue skies and the deep blue colour of the sea, since these photos were taken the weather changed drastically. The afternoon has been cold and windy with thunder, lightening, rain and hailstones...unbelievable weather just now!

Regents Pub an evening with the pipers!

We had a great evening of entertainment in Regents Pub last night with the Glaswegian Pipers. The event was well advertised which attracted a good crowd...lets hope there's lots more nights like this to come!

Lloret de Mar - Old town

As the weather is still very unsettled just now in Lloret,  its not very suitable for lounging about on the beach so maybe you might like to take a walk away from the beach and shops and head towards the old streets of Lloret for a spot of sightseeing. These are just a few of some of the sights you could come across, there are some beautiful old buildings in the narrow back streets with the old style ornate balcony's and doorways. In these streets you will also come across many of the typical Spanish bodegas where you can stop off for a coffee and a snack!

Lloret de Mar weather

This mornings view from the woodland in Lloret is not the sunny outlook we should have at this time of year!

The weekend is here and the weather is again taking a turn for the worse! Tomorrows forecast is for rain all day long and a high of only 15c, not very good for holiday makers who have decided to spend their bank holiday weekend here in Lloret. Sunday's forecast is much better, showers are possible first thing but then sun is forecast for the rest of the day.

Out & about in Lloret.

Out and about in Lloret today it does now appear that the weather may be becoming more settled...I'm sure I've said that before not too long ago!
So a few photos of the different sights we came across today while out for a walk in the sun....

The 1st was actually taken from our balcony of the parrot that seems to have made Fenals his home for the last 2yrs.  He can often be heard making his loud squawking noises as he is flying around our local area, but its now a few weeks since he was heard so I thought he'd moved on to somewhere warmer, but here he is again hopefully hes back for the summer, sadly I don't think he's got a mate yet!
Some of the beautiful flowers which are now in flower...Bird of Paradise above and a gorgeous pink Magnolia tree in full bloom.
The sun shining through the tall pine trees!

Lloret de Mar Views

An early morning walk through the woods!

Taking a walk through the woods between Lloret and Fenals gives you some of the best views of the town, its such a refreshing change to get away from the busy shopping streets and nightlife area normally associated with Lloret. From the sea front just take the path towards the Dona Marina statue and keep to the footpath which leads you to Bar Cala Banys, you then have to take the steps round the back of the bar and again keep to the pathway to reach the cliff tops from where you can see these stunning coastal views.

Sail the 'Med' in Style!

After my posting earlier today about the Lloret Triathlon, I did a bit of research into the tall sailing ship which could be seen out at sea in some of the photos. The ship is the 'Royal Clipper' and was on its way to Barcelona from Monaco (not Palamos as I thought). The 134mt long ship can carry 227 guests in its 112 cabins and has 3 swimming pools on deck, it is available for charter so if you fancy a trip around the 'Med' in style then this could be the way to do it!
Take a look at the ships website with photos and prices here....'ROYAL CLIPPER'
