Lloret de Mar - Dragster's Moto Group

Each year in Catalonia is the festival of San Juan, when bonfires all over the region are lit with the Flama del Canigo. Just as they did last year the Dragsters Moto Group travelled out to Vidreres to bring the flame back to Lloret in order to light the towns bonfire....
.
....this must have been a great honor for the bike riders and their passengers!

  Victor and Dolores.

They certainly got a small crowd watching as they set off on their journey out to Vidreras with a police escort. In the photo above is Victor and his wife Dolores - You can normally catch Victor working with his brother Oscar on the beach in Fenals with the Watersports centre.

Lloret - Fenals Beach

Photos taken on our local beach in Fenals over the weekend, showing that the people are now starting to enjoy the warmer sea temperatures. Air temps are also better after a bit of unsettled weather at the beginning of June. From Fenals beach you can take a walk up through the woods and get some great views of the rocky coves along the coast from the cliff tops.....just don't get too near the edge as it is quite dangerous, keep a close eye on your children and dogs!

Lloret de Mar Events

A little bit of history came to Lloret this week end with an event dedicated to people from Lloret in the late19th century who travelled over to the Americas and made their fortune, after which they returned and changed the look of Lloret forever by using their wealth to build many of the buildings and monuments we can still see in the town today. A few are the town hall, Museum del Mar and some of the larger buildings along the seafront, streets in the older parts of town and also in the cemetry at the back of town.
